Robert O'Neill Rizer was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on May 24, 1837. He served as 2nd Lieutenant in "G" Company, 2nd Colorado Cavalry Volunteers (1862-1864), later as 1st Lieutenant in the "E" Company, 2nd Colorado Cavalry Volunteers (1864-1865). Rizer married Mary Josephine Keith in Denver, Colo. in 1865, the couple had ten children. He died in Junction City, Kan. on March 21, 1921.
